NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will hold board exams for classes 10 and 12 from March 3 onwards, as per the decision taken at the high-level examination committee meeting on Monday, announced Bulaki Das Kalla, Rajasthan’s education minister.

“Board examinations will be conducted from March 3, following the Covid guidelines and physical distance,” said a post from the minister on social media.

“More than 20 lakh students will take the examination at a total of 6,074 centres,” Kalla also said. To maintain security and enforce Covid protocol, a total of 2,874 home guards and 830 policemen will be appointed.

To prevent cheating, around 300 centres including the 60 answer-sheet collection and distribution centres will be monitored by CCTVs. “Fewer candidates will be seated at all the centres and arrangements will be made for masks and sanitisers,” Kalla further said.

“Strict action will be taken against the candidates who copy. The practical part of RBSE Class 12 exam 2022 will start from January 17 as per schedule. “Only local teachers will be appointed for the examinations,” said the Rajasthan education minister.

Recently, schools in Rajasthan were closed for all classes till January 30. The Rajasthan government, on Sunday, directed to close schools in urban areas owing to the rising Covid cases in the state. Curfews were also imposed on Sundays by limiting timings of markets, occupancy at restaurants, movie theatres, among others.

The new Covid guidelines issued by the Rajasthan home department directed to close schools up to Class 12 in the municipal corporation and municipality areas. Schools were instructed to shift to online learning.
