Rajasthan CM announces recruitment of 10,000 school teachers

JAIPUR : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday made various announcements, including recruitment of 10,000 school teachers, 4000 patwari (village level revenue officer), filling 1750 posts in the Forest Department, besides Rs 10000 one-time assistance to youths under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Rojgar Protsahan Yojana. He said that educated unemployed youths will be given the option of getting Rs 6,000 for working under the Pradhan Mantri Internship Yojana instead of unemployment allowance.

The chief minister also announced the formation of a high-level committee to investigate big projects across the state during the previous Congress government rule. Following the fresh announcements, the Rajasthan Assembly passed the finance and appropriation Bills by voice vote. Replying to the discussion on the Bills, the chief minister said that the Haryana government has formed a task force to prepare a joint DPR for bringing Yamuna water to Rajasthan.

Talking about the MoUs signed in the Rising Rajasthan Summit, he said, "Out of the MoUs signed in the Investor Summit, MoUs worth Rs three lakh crore will be implemented by March 30." The chief minister said that during the Congress rule, an investment summit was held before the end of the rule, in which MoUs worth Rs 12.50 lakh crore were signed, out of which only Rs 30,000 crore were implemented. He said that the BJP government signed MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore, out of which MoUs worth Rs two lakh 24 thousand crore have been implemented.

Rajasthan Assembly decisions

Talking about the work done by the RSS in the country, the chief minister said, "Three-four generations of people have passed away working in RSS. They are working selflessly to give a direction to this country and the society." Earlier, Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully accused the state government of altering rules under the influence of the RSS and challenged the organisation to take "real steps" towards ending untouchability and uplifting Dalits in Rajasthan. Taking a direct jab at the RSS, Jully said, "At the RSS' behest, the government has changed several rules. Today, I challenge the RSS -” if they have the courage, let them launch a campaign in Rajasthan to end untouchability and uplift Dalits."

His remarks sparked a brief uproar in the Assembly. During a discussion on the Appropriation Bill in the Rajasthan Assembly, Jully attacked the government's decision to spend over Rs 100 crore on the IIFA awards while "neglecting" the development of important religious sites like Khatu Shyam ji and Govind Dev ji. "No big Bollywood star attended the IIFA event, and they didn't visit any of Jaipur's tourist spots," Jully alleged. He also criticised the state government for "failing" to disburse social security pensions on time. "Pensions meant for Diwali are still pending as Holi nears. This delay shows the government's apathy towards the poor," he said.
