The testing agency has also extended the duration for the NEET re-exam by an additional 15 minutes. The exam duration includes time for mandatory formalities such as signing of attendance sheets and other invigilation procedures, ensuring candidates get enough time to complete the exam.

“This includes the time required for mandatory examination formalities such as signing of attendance sheets and other invigilation procedures. The revised examination window has been designed to ensure that candidates are able to utilize the intended examination time without feeling that administrative processes are taking away from their opportunity to attempt the paper,” NTA said in its notice.

More than 22 lakh students are set to appear for the NEET UG re-exam 2026 , scheduled from 2 pm to 5:15 across the country.

Re-NEET 2026: Change in question paper booklet

According to the NTA notice, previously, students could do rough work only on the pages provided at the end of the question booklet. However, some students, particularly left-handed ones, found this inconvenient.

Therefore, two rough-work pages have been added just after the instruction page, and two pages will continue to be available at the end.

Furthermore, the revised layout of the question booklet has been incorporated in both English and regional language versions of the paper.

Under the new measures introduced, students will have four rough-work pages instead of two, giving them more space for calculations, diagrams, and other workings during examination.

NTA is yet to issue the NEET UG admit card 2026 on its official website. Students can download the NEET city slip 2026 available on neet.nta.nic.in, using their login credentials.
