PIB Fact Check debunks viral NEET 2026 paper leak claims; NTA to hold re-exam on June 21 for over 22 lakh candidates

A fresh claim of a National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2026 question paper leak has surfaced on social media, triggering concern among lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. The claim, which was circulated through social media posts and messaging platforms, suggested that the NEET question paper had been leaked ahead of the examination.

However, the government's fact-checking unit, the Press Information Bureau's (PIB) fact check, has dismissed the claim as fake. In a post shared on X, PIB fact check stated that a question paper being circulated online and claimed to be the leaked NEET paper was not authentic.
Candidates should not trust, share, or rely on unverified examination-related content circulating on social media platforms. It advised students to refer only to official sources for examination updates and information.
PIB also encouraged students to report suspicious or misleading content. Contact details, including a WhatsApp number and email address, were shared for reporting misinformation related to government examinations.

Previously, a viral notice claiming major changes to the Re-NEET 2026 examination pattern has been declared fake by the PIB fact check unit. The document, widely circulated on social media, falsely stated that the NTA had revised the exam pattern to focus more on conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and application-based learning for the June 21 re-examination. PIB clarified that no such notice has been issued by the NTA and advised candidates not to trust or share unverified information.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Re-NEET 2026 examination on June 21, 2026, after the original NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak. The exam will be held for more than 22 lakh MBBS aspirants in a single shift from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The agency will issue the re-neet admit card on June 14 on the official website of NEET at neet.nta.nic.in, till then, applicants can download their city intimation slip.
