Republic Day 2022: UP government issues directions for educational institutions for celebrations

Educational institutions have been asked to hoist the national flag at 10am, conduct group singing of national anthem, activities etc.
NEW DELHI: For Republic Day 2022 celebrations, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order including directions for schools and educational institutions.
According to the government’s order, schools have been asked to hoist the national flag at 10am.

While following the COVID-19 protocol, schools have been asked to conduct such programmes at the occasion which include group singing of the national anthem. Students must be briefed about the history of the freedom struggle and while saluting the sacrifice of the armed forces, inspirational episodes of the life of patriots should be repeated in which national consciousness is developed, the order said.
Sports, cycle races, etc should be organized in the educational institutions during the day. In the evening, a joint march of NCC scouts and guides should be organised, further said the order.

On January 22, the Uttar Pradesh government further extended closure of schools and colleges till January 30 due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state. However, online classes will continue as usual in all schools, colleges and other educational institutions, Avnish Kumar Awasthi, additional chief secretary, Uttar Pradesh, said, as per the ANI report.
President Ram Nath Kovind will address the nation on Tuesday on the eve of the 73rd Republic Day , a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique issued on Monday night said. The address will be broadcast from 7 pm on the entire national network of All India Radio (AIR) and telecast over all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by the English version, it said.

Broadcast of the address in Hindi and English on Doordarshan will be followed by broadcast in regional languages by regional channels of Doordarshan, the communique said. AIR will broadcast regional language versions from 9.30 pm onwards on its respective regional networks, it added.
