RNTU opens admissions 2026-27 with industry-linked courses, apprenticeships and startup support

Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) has begun admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, offering a range of programmes designed to help students build practical skills alongside academic knowledge. The courses are structured to meet changing industry demands while also supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.

With programmes spanning engineering, management, agriculture, science, law, education and healthcare, the university is positioning itself as a multidisciplinary institution that combines classroom learning with real-world exposure. RNTU academic structure follows the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, giving students greater flexibility in choosing courses and career paths.

The university also highlighted its academic track record, noting that it has featured in the NIRF rankings for seven consecutive years, making it the only private university in Madhya Pradesh to achieve this distinction.

Industry partnerships shape new programmes

One of the key attractions this year is RNTU's industry-linked engineering programmes. Developed in collaboration with companies such as IBM, L&T and Samatrix, these courses are aimed at giving students hands-on experience in emerging technologies and workplace-relevant skills.

The specialised programmes cover areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, semiconductor technology, full-stack development and digital manufacturing. By combining academic study with industry inputs, the university hopes to make graduates better prepared for professional roles from day one.

Industry-integrated engineering courses

As part of its industry-integrated academic approach, the university offers programmes designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge that match current industry expectations. The following courses are available under this initiative:

The placement record continues to be one of its strengths. More than 600 companies have recruited from the campus over the years, and the university reports that over 7,000 students have secured placements. The highest package offered to a student has reached Rs 65 lakh per annum, with recruiters including TCS, HDFC bank, ICICI bank, exide industries, McCain foods and Xebia.

Apprenticeships bring real-world experience

RNTU has also introduced apprenticeship-integrated degree and diploma programmes in partnership with organisations such as Bosch, Boat and Daikin. These courses combine academic learning with practical industry exposure through internships, live projects and industrial visits.

The goal is to ensure students graduate with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The institution has also invested in a Google-enabled campus ecosystem that provides access to digital learning tools and cloud-based resources.

Startup support gets stronger At RNTU

Beyond academics, the university is placing greater emphasis on entrepreneurship. Through its AIC-RNTU (Atal Incubation Centre), students can access mentoring, early-stage funding support, industry connections and guidance on turning business ideas into startups.

The university's E-Cell and technical clubs also encourage students to work on projects, participate in innovation activities and develop solutions to real-world challenges. These initiatives are intended to help students build confidence and entrepreneurial skills alongside their studies.
