RRB JE Recruitment 2024: Notification out for 7,951 posts; application fee, documents required

RRB JE Exam 2024: The registration process will commence from July 30 to August 29, 2024. Apply online at indianrailways.gov.in.
NEW DELHI: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued the notification for the junior engineer (JE) recruitment exam 2024. The board has announced to fill 7,951 vacancies for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical Metallurgical Assistant, and other posts.
“Applications are invited from eligible candidates for various posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, (Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant, Chemical Supervisor (Research) and Metallurgical Supervisor (Research). Applications, complete in all respects, must be submitted online only latest by 23:59 hours of 29.08.2024,” the official notice read.
The RRB JE notification 2024 is also available on the official website, indianrailways.gov.in. As per the schedule, the RRB JE registration process will commence on July 30. Candidates should submit their applications, including the payment of the application fee, by August 29, 2024. The board will open the RRB JE application correction window from August 30, 2024, to September 8, 2024.
Examination Fee
Candidates will need to pay the examination fee based on their category to appear in the RRB JE exam, as detailed below:

For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC), the examination fee is Rs 250. This amount will be refunded, after deducting applicable bank charges, upon appearing in the 1st stage Computer-Based Test (CBT).

For all other candidates, the examination fee is Rs 500. As per the official notice, an amount of Rs 400 will be refunded, after deducting bank charges, upon appearing in the first stage computer-based test (CBT).

RRB JE 2024: Documents required
Candidates can check the documents required during the RRB JE 2024 registration process given below.

Passport Size Photograph: A clear, colour JPEG image (30 to 70 KB) against a plain white background, without dark glasses or a cap. Keep at least 12 copies for future use.

Scanned Signature: A JPEG image (30 to 70 KB) of the signature in running handwriting.

SC, ST Certificate: PDF format (up to 500 KB) for those requesting a train travel pass.

Photograph for PwBD Candidates: A passport-size photograph as specified above.

Scribe Details: For eligible PwBD candidates, provide a passport-size JPEG photograph of the scribe (30 to 70 KB) without dark glasses or a cap. Changing the scribe at the exam venue is generally not allowed but may be permitted in exceptional cases with valid reasons and proper documentation.
