NEW DELHI: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) clarified that the notice regarding recruitment of sub-inspectors (SI) and constable in Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) is fake. PIB fact check said that the RRB notice circulating on social media has not been issued by the Ministry of Railways.
“A fake notice issued in name of Railway Ministry regarding recruitment of sub-inspector & constable in Railway Protection force is circulating on social media.” “No such notice has been issued by RailMinIndia,” said PIB in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The fake RRB SI, Constable recruitment 2024 notification claimed that the registration process for a total of 4,660 posts including 452 posts of sub-inspectors and 4,208 posts of constables will begin from April 15, 2024. Candidates will be able to apply for the recruitment by May 14 through the official websites of Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).

The fake recruitment notice also talked about the eligibility criteria, initial pay, age limit, application fee, reservation policy, mode of exam, and official websites of RRBs. “Detailed CEN No. RPF 01/2024 and CEN No. 02/2024 will be published on the official websites of RRBs on 15.04.2024,” the fake notice read.
As per the fake notification on RPF recruitment, the examination fee for candidates belonging to general category is Rs 500 whereas SC, ST, ex-servicemen, female, minorities, Economically Backward Class (EBC) will be required to pay Rs 250. Those candidates who appear in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will get their fee refunded, it added. The fake RRB employment notice further listed down the official websites of all RRBs.
