NEW DELHI: Sharda University celebrated its 29th Foundation Day on the occasion of World Minority Day. The event was organised in partnership with the District Minority Welfare Department, featuring various cultural performances by students.
Scholarships were awarded to minority students selected by the Uttar Pradesh government. Priyanka Jain, trustee of Sharda Group welcomed Yukti Panday, district minority welfare officer.
The university's chancellor, P K Gupta, and Pro-Chancellor, Y K Gupta, honored the guest with shawls and mementos including Abdul Rashid Ansari, President BJP Minority Morcha; Anuj Jain; Ishwar Chand Jain; Jyoti Acharya; Mahesh Jain; SDM Sadar Charul Yadav; and SDM Dadri Anuj Nehra.
P K Gupta, chancellor, Sharda University said: “Sharda University’s mission goes beyond imparting education. We aim to empower students, guide them towards achieving their dreams, and prepare them to bring about societal transformation. This journey is both challenging and exciting, and our collective efforts are crucial in elevating the institution to greater heights.”
“My education took place in a Jain school, and I follow Jainism in my actions and principles. Being a Jain, I respect all religions and adhere to the tenets of Jainism. The Jain Study Centre on campus is doing remarkable work. Lord Mahavir Swami’s teachings inspire society to live peacefully, and his path is essential for achieving success in life,” the chancellor added.

“Our Constitution upholds the principle of equality and prohibits discrimination. In line with this vision, Sharda University prioritizes minority representation and fosters a harmonious, inclusive campus environment. Our nation respects every religion, and our Constitution provides rights and significance to minorities,” Pandey said.
She also talked about Sharda University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, reflecting India's rich heritage of unity in diversity across cultures, languages, castes, and religions.
Ashok Singh, ADCP; Prashant Gupta, CEO of Sharda Group of Institutions; Rishabh Gupta, Vice President, Sharda Hospital; Vivek Kumar Gupta, Registrar; Sibaram Khara, Vice-Chancellor; Parmanand, Pro Vice-Chancellor; R C Singh and Bhuvnesh Kumar, deans; Ajit Kumar, PR Director, and various other deans and heads of departments were also present at the event.
