Sharda University conducts health camp, counselling session for women artisans

Sharda University’s Yunus Social Business Centre, Sharda school of Dental Sciences and IQAC jointly organised a health camp and counselling session for women artisans on Friday
NEW DELHI : IQAC, Sharda University’s Yunus Social Business Centre and School of Dental Sciences jointly organised a health camp and counselling session for the women artisans on Friday. The camp was organised at My E-Haat display in Noida and was attended by 200 women artisans. On the occasion, Trustee of MonAmi foundation Anurag Rana, Himani Gautam, Anshu Joshi, Simi Suri from HCL foundation, members of IQAC and others were present.
The initiative was aimed at spreading awareness among the women artisans about the significance of maintaining good personal and oral hygiene. Additionally, its objective was also to assess the occurrence of common dental problems and the oral health seeking behaviour of the women artisans.

The doctors also performed a basic health checkup on the women artisans and also handed over oral hygiene kits to them. Sharda School of Dental Sciences dean Dr. M Siddharth said that in today’s era, the women have become pillars of both their family as well as the country. An educated woman educates the entire family, he added.
Sharda IQAC director, Professor (Dr) Anubhav Vashisht said that the university often organises such programs as it encourages women to move forward in every field and domain. He further said that the event held a special place for him, as the entire university came to encourage women artisans and support them.
Following this, Dr Sanjeevani Kaul of Sharda Hospital took a counselling session for the women artisans and also responded to their queries. Dr Pallavi Sharma from Sharda School of Dental Studies spoke on the significance of oral hygiene.
