Shiv Nadar University PhD Admission 2026: Eligible candidates will be selected based on a written test followed by an interview, while candidates with valid CSIR-JRF, UGC-NET or GATE scores will be exempted from the written test.

Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi NCR has opened applications for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes in Engineering for the Spring 2026 cycle. The institute will begin the new batch on January 12, 2026, and the last date to apply for the PhD programme is November 30, 2025.
The School of Engineering at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence offers PhD programmes across multiple departments. The list includes Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The admission process includes an online written test followed by an interview. The institute has set different dates for online written tests and interviews based on the programme. According to the institute's official website, for the PhD in Chemical Engineering, the online entrance exam will be held on December 10, 2025, and the interviews will be conducted from December 11 to December 17, 2025 (tentative).
For the PhD in Civil Engineering, the written test is scheduled for December 9, 2025, and the technical interview will be held on December 15, 2025. For the PhD in Electrical Engineering, the written test will take place on December 6, 2025, followed by the technical interview on December 17, 2025.
According to the eligibility criteria, final-year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) students with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 7.5 or 75% can apply.
Candidates who have completed Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Engineering (ME), or Master of Science (MSc) degrees in relevant fields with 60 percent or 65 percent marks, as specified by the programme, are also eligible.
Candidates holding valid scores in Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Junior Research Fellowship (CSIR-JRF), University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET), or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will be exempted from the written test.
The institute has detailed a structured financial support system for all full-time PhD scholars. Candidates admitted to the programme will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 45,000 for the first two years and Rs 50,000 for the subsequent three years.
The support package also includes a tuition fee waiver of Rs 60,000 per year from the annual fee of Rs 1,10,000, along with a hostel fee waiver of Rs 60,000 for those opting for on-campus accommodation. Scholars will further receive a research grant of Rs 1,50,000 to be utilised for participation in national and international conferences.
