Six teachers arrested in connection with Assam paper leak sent to police custody: Report

Assam Class 10 Paper Leak Case: All the six accused have been sent to a six-day police custody, as per media reports
NEW DELHI: A local court in Guwahati has sent all the six accused, who were arrested in connection with the Assam paper leak case, to a six-day police custody, as per a report in Times of India .
The report stated that the ones who were sent to the police custody have been identified as Jagannath Pegu, Purnakanta Pegu, Tutu Sarma, Jatin Doley and Ananta Doley. All the six persons had been found accused in leaking the Assam board Class 10 exam question paper from Lakhimpur district of the state.

All the six accused had been reportedly produced before the court on Wednesday, which sent them to six-day police custody. It is noteworthy that as many as 37 people, which include around 15 minors, have been arrested in connection with the case till now, in the state. Pranab Dutta, who was the mastermind of the case and his accomplice, Kumud Rajkhowa, are currently under a 10-day police custody.
The Assam board Class 10 science paper was scheduled to be held on March 12, the images of which surfaced on social media platforms before the exam began. The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) cancelled the exams, while CID had begun probing the case, said the TOI report. During the initial probe, it was unearthed that the question paper leak case was connected to Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Majuli and Dhemaji districts of the state, the report added.
