Social media posts claiming NEET 2024 paper leak completely baseless, without any ground: NTA

NEW DELHI: The social media posts pointing towards the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2024 paper leak are completely baseless and without any ground, said the National Testing Agency (NTA). The testing agency issued a statement for the concerned students, parents, and teachers after several social media posts claimed that the NEET 2024 question paper was leaked. “This is regarding the posts circulating on Social Media platforms regarding the NEET (UG)- 2024 Examination held on 5th May, 2024, wherein, a perception is being created that the Question Paper got leaked before the commencement of examination,” said NTA in an official statement.

The exam agency informed that it considered every single NEET UG question paper 2024 to test the rumours, and said that the gates are closed after the commencement of exam preventing anyone from entering the exam centre which is also under the CCTV surveillance.

“It has been ascertained from NTA's security protocols and Standard Operating Procedures that the Social Media Posts pointing towards any paper leak are completely baseless and without any ground. To put rumours to rest, it is also stated that every single Question Paper (QP) has been accounted for. Further, it is also to be noted that after the gates of the Examination Centres are closed, no one from outside is permitted access inside the Halls which are under CCTV surveillance,” NTA clarified.

NEET UG 2024: Incorrect question paper

Referring to the incident wherein the aspirants at one centre in Rajasthan received the incorrect question paper of NEET UG 2024 and some of them ‘forcibly’ left the exam hall with the paper before the conclusion of the exam, NTA said that NEET paper leak is being linked to a picture of that question paper being shared on social media and called it ‘mischievous and preposterous’. It repeated the fact that no external person or agency can access the centre once the exam begins. It had earlier said that the exam was already underway when the images were shared online.

“All other photographs of QPs circulating in Social Media have no relation to the Actual Examination Question Paper which has been administered,” NTA stated. It added that strict action has been taken on impersonators or candidates involved in malpractices in the exam.

Further, NTA informed that it conducts post-exam analysis to detect cases of Unfair Means (UFM) and the action includes cancellation of candidature and debarment from exams.
