NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL 2024). Eligible candidates can now fill out the SSC CGL 2024 application form by July 27 through the official website at ssc.gov.in.

Earlier the last date to fill out the SSC CGL 2024 application form was July 24. The recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 17,727 vacancies in Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts.

Candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100 to register for the exam. Women candidates and candidates belonging to scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD), and ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.

The commission has also extended the deadline for fee payment from July 25 to July 28. Candidates will be able to make changes in the application form on August 10, 11.

“The relevant part in the notice of examination where the closing date was treated as a crucial date for ascertaining eligibility, will now be as per the new closing date i.e. 27.07.2024. The dates of ‘Window for Application Form Correction’ i.e. 10-08-2024 to 11-08-2024 (23:00 hours) will remain unchanged),” the official notice read.

As per the official notice, the SSC CGL tier 1 exam 2024 is tentatively scheduled to be held in September-October 2024 and tier 2 in December.

SSC CGL 2024: Eligibility criteria

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria for SSC CGL 2024 given below before applying for it.

Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and no older than 32 years old. The age limit will be determined as of August 1, 2024.

Educational Qualification:

  • For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from any recognised University with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation or should have a minimum of 60% in mathematics in Class 12.

  • For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Candidates should hold a graduation degree from a recognised university with Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics as a compulsory or elective subject.

  • For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC): Candidates should have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, along with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognised university or research institution.

  • For Remaining Posts: Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised university.
