NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has clarified that the notification for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (SSC CHSL 2024) will be uploaded on the new official website, ssc.gov.in. As per the exam calendar, the SSC CHSL notification 2024 and details on vacancies will be announced today.
The commission launched the SSC new website on February 17. However, it also informed that the old SSC portal, ssc.nic.in, will also be accessible.
“All the candidates are informed that the Notice for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2024 is to be published soon on the new website of the Commission. Accordingly, the applications in response to this Notice will be accepted on the new website of the Commission only,” it said. The registration for SSC CHSL 2024 will be closed on May 1 and the exams will be scheduled in June-July.
Candidates applying for various posts have to complete one-time registration (OTR). The SSC OTR done in the old website will not be considered valid in the new portal. Therefore, the commission had instructed applicants to generate their OTR on the new website as the old OTR will not be functional for the new website.
Moreover, the application module on the new website will have a provision to capture live photographs of the candidates. “This is a change from the earlier dispensation wherein the candidates were required to upload a photograph already captured. In the new application module, live photographs of the candidates will be captured for which either a webcam on computer/ laptop or an android device can be used,” it said.
Further, it issued guidelines to take photographs while filling the registration form on ssc.gov.in.
- Candidates have been advised to find a place with good light and plain background.
- They should ensure that the webcam on the computer or laptop should be placed at eye level.
- Position yourself directly in front of the webcam and look straight ahead.
- Candidates should not wear a cap, mask or glasses or spectacles while taking a live photo.
