SSC GD Constable application deadline extended; now apply till September 30

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 13: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has extended the application deadline of SSC GD Constable by two weeks. Candidates who wish to apply for SSC GD Constable can submit their application till 5 pm of September 30. This information was released by SSC officials through a notification. Earlier, the last date of application was September 17.
The extension in the application window by two weeks has been provided due to non-acceptance of some of the application forms, for which the reason was technical issues with the official website.
The official notification reads, “As the commission has hosted this application on its new website, therefore during the initial days there were some teething problem. It was also observed that the new website was working slow. For which, the candidates faced problem in submitting their application. Therefore, the commission has decided to extend the last date of application.”
While filling the application form, candidates can pay their fees online till September 30. However, candidates not comfortable in online mode can pay the fee in offline mode through SBI Challan till October 3, provided the challan is generated on or before September 30. Male general and OBC category candidates have to pay Rs 100, while there is no application fee for SC, ST, women and PWD candidates.
SSC GD Constable application form 2018 can be filled in two parts. In Part I of application form, applicants have to enter basic details, additional details, contact details and photo signature & left thumb impression to register for the exam. In Part II, candidates will have to enter their preferences of exam centres and pay the examination fees.
It is mandatory for applicants to fill Aadhaar number or Aadhaar enrollment number while filling SSC GD Constable application form. However, those who do not have Aadhaar Card are required to fill the ID numbers of either Voter ID Card, PAN, Passport, Driving License, School/College ID or Employer ID.
SSC GD Constable exam is conducted for recruitment to CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. As many as 54953 vacancies have been announced by SSC. The recruitment exam comprises Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examination.
