SSC to use Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for recruitment exams from May 2025

Download NowNEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to use the Aadhaar-based biometric authentication method for its upcoming competitive exams from May 2025. The step, taken by the commission, aimed to make its examination more transparent and secure.

As per the new method, candidates will be able to authenticate themselves using Aadhaar at the time of online registration, and while appearing at the test centers, the official notice reads.
“Such Aadhaar authentication is voluntary and is intended as a measure to promote the ease of engaging with the examination process,” the official notice reads.
The new feature will be available for candidates appearing for the SSC exams in May 2025 onwards. The commission will soon announce the instructions and updates on the usage of the feature for the online registration and while at the exam centre.

Yesterday, the SSC also said that the calendar of examinations for the year 2025-26 is under review. “The revised calendar of examinations will be published shortly on the website of the Commission,” the commission said.
The SSC is expected to declare the SSC GD Constable 2025 results shortly on its official website at ssc.gov.in. The competitive exam was conducted to fill a total of 39,481 vacancies, and the computer-based test was conducted from February 4 to 25, 2025.
Next steps after qualifying the SSC GD Constable 2025 exam will include a physics test (PET/PMT), document verification, and medical examination.
