Study Abroad: British Council announces GREAT scholarships for masters in UK universities

Study Abroad Scholarship: The GREAT Scholarships 2024 are offered for students across disciplines including science and technology and law.
NEW DELHI: The British Council has announced GREAT scholarships 2024 for students of one-year postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2024-2025 across various fields of study.
The announcement for the GREAT Scholarships 2024 is in partnership with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign. Students from India seeking admission will have the opportunity to avail the scholarship for postgraduate programmes across various fields of study in the UK from autumn 2024.
The GBP 10,000 scholarship goes towards tuition fees for 26 one-year postgraduate programmes offered by 25 participating universities in the UK. These scholarships are offered across disciplines like finance, marketing, business, psychology, design, humanities, dance and more.
UK Scholarship: Who can apply
The GREAT Scholarship Programme 2024 also offers two scholarships for justice and law studies in partnership with the UK’s ministry of justice. The students will have the opportunity to pursue various courses such as human rights, property law, criminal justice, commercial law and more as per the announcement.
Also, four science and technology scholarships are on offer from four participating UK universities for courses in science and technology-related subjects such as artificial intelligence, sustainable engineering, and psychology, among others in any of the participating higher education institutions.
Students who want to apply for the scholarships should have received an offer letter from one of the participating universities. Such students must also satisfy all requirements needed for the chosen course as is the requirement of a particular university.
The UK Home Office in August 2023 reported, there is a 54% increase in the number of Indian students in the UK as compared to 2022. It granted 1,42,848 sponsored study visas to Indians till June 2023.
