University of Sheffield opens applications for BSc Biological Sciences with 1 year of work

Study Abroad: The University of Sheffield calls for applications for BSc in biological science programmes, offers a placement year and scholarships
NEW DELHI: The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, has called for applications for its BSc in biological sciences programmes. The university also promises placement in one year of paid work after the programme, starting from the September 2024 intake.
Students admitted to the four-year BSc degree programme will be able to tailor their degrees as per their interests and choice of subjects. In the first year, they will study organisms and the environment, biomedicine and molecular biology.
Second year onwards the students will have the flexibility of either studying one of the subjects or picking up all three to complete their four-year undergraduate programme.
One-year placement
During this period, the students will have the opportunity to work for a year which will be a paid placement. In the placement year, the students will not only be paying a reduced fee for the year but they will also have the support of the university to complete their programme.
During the four-year degree programme, the students will have access to study materials ranging from biotechnology, cell biology, genetics, microbiology and biochemistry, biomedicine, neuroscience, human health and disease, to biodiversity, evolution, sustainability and climate change.
Sheffield University: Eligibility, fees, scholarship
An Indian candidate who has cleared Class 12 exams of either the central board of secondary education (CBSE) or council for the Indian school certificate examinations (CISCE) or the Maharashtra board should score 80%. An Indian candidate who has cleared Class 12 exams of the West Bengal Board should have scored at least 75%. Indian students who have cleared Class 12 of other state boards should have scored at least 85%. The students should have Biology and a second science.
The IELTS grade of the student should be at least 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component or an alternative acceptable English language.
The university is offering 75 international undergraduate merit scholarships in 2024.
