Tamil Nadu Class 12th exam 2021 cancelled, says TN CM Stalin
The Tamil Nadu government cancelled Class 12 board examinations. A committee would be set up to decide the evaluation criteria.
NEW DELHI: Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu has cancelled the Class 12 board exams 2021. The board will set up a committee to take a decision on the evaluation criteria for Class 12 students. The decision to cancel TN 12th board exams 2021 was made due to an exponential rise in the number of infection cases in several parts of the state.

A committee, which would be set up by the government to decide the marking criteria, will be headed by the School Education Department Principal Secretary. The marks awarded under such evaluation criteria will be the basis for admission to college courses.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi informing about the decision of cancelling board exams. "Admissions to professional, arts, and science courses in our state will be made based on these marks that will be awarded to the students," the minister said, as reported by Livemint.
In a recent tweet, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has urged Prime Minister Modi to cancel NEET and other national level entrance exams.
“I've written to @PMOIndia urging him to cancel the conduct of NEET and all other national level entrance exams, keeping in mind the safety of the students, as the reasons for cancelling the class XII board exams are equally applicable to entrance exams as well,” the minister said on Twitter.

The Tamil Nadu government’s decision to cancel Class 12 board exams came after the CBSE decided to cancel the CBSE 12th exams 2021 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. After CBSE, many other educational boards have decided to scrap the 12th board exams this year.
