Tamil Nadu 'Excellence in Education' event today: CM Stalin to expand Rs 1,000 aid, showcase 7 schemes

Tamil Nadu CM will showcase 7 schemes, including Pudhumai Penn, Tamil Pudhalvan, and the CM’s Breakfast Scheme, at the event; Rs 1,000 aid expansion to benefit 2.57 lakh college students.
Tamil Nadu will celebrate its achievements in education today by hosting a special event themed 'Tamil Nadu Excels in Education’, where chief minister MK Stalin will be joined by his Telangana counterpart A Revanth Reddy. The state will also expand its Rs 1,000 monthly assistance scheme for college students for the academic year 2025-26.
The state government has announced that it will host a mega event to celebrate the excellence of education in Tamil Nadu , by showcasing seven key schemes of the Stalin-led DMK government. These initiatives include Naan Mudhalvan, Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, Pudhumai Penn, Tamil Pudhalvan, Kalaignar Sports Kit scheme, Mission International Medal Scheme (MIMS), and schemes for children with special needs.
While making the announcement for the event, a senior official said that the state government will announce the expansion of the Pudhumai Penn and Tamil Pudhalvan schemes for male and female students studying in colleges.
A monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 will be given to both male and female students under these two separate schemes. The launch of the expansion for the academic year 2025-26 is expected to benefit over 2.57 lakh students.
