NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Government Examination, Tamil Nadu has extended the application deadline of Tamil Nadu National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) till December 27. Candidates can fill the Tamil Nadu NMMS 2023-24 application form on the official website, dge.tn.gov.in.

The scholarship exam is held for Class 8 students studying in Tamil Nadu government and government-aided schools. The Tamil Nadu NMMS 2024 exam has been scheduled to take place on February 3, 2024. Students who pass the exam will be offered a scholarship worth Rs 12,000 per annum.
Students applying for taking the NMMS test must be enrolled in state government, government-aided, or local body schools. To be eligible the student's household income should also be less than Rs 3,50,000.
Tamil Nadu NMMS 2024 question paper will be based on the syllabus of Classes 7 and 8. The NMMS 2023-24 will be divided into two tests: Mental ability test (MAT) and a scholastic abilities test (SAT).
Each test will have 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration of each paper is 90 minutes. The students' nonverbal and verbal meta-cognitive abilities, such as reasoning and critical thinking, will be examined in the mental ability test. On the other hand, the SAT will test candidates' knowledge on science, social studies and mathematics.
The official notice read “The final list of students' verified at all concerned levels on National Scholarship Portal, will be considered for sanction of funds. The scholarships for those students will be discontinued if they would have not been able to renew their application on NSP within stipulated time period.”
