Tamil Nadu schools reopen for Classes 1-8 after nearly 20 months; Stalin distributes books

Tamil Nadu schools reopen: Several schools have reopened schools following Covid-19 guidelines, while some have decided to delay resuming offline classes.
NEW DELHI: After a gap of nearly 20 months, Tamil Nadu schools reopen for Classes 1 to 8 today, November 1. Several schools have reopened schools, while some have decided to delay resuming offline classes for students.
School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi had informed that the state government has prepared safety measures and standard operating procedures to reopen schools for Classes 1 to 8 from November 1 and asked schools to strictly follow the protocol.

He further informed that the classes for KG and play schools will not resume. The primary class students have not attended physical classes since March 2020 after the Covid-19 outbreak.
DMK youth secretary Udayanidhi Stalin said, in a tweet, “Coimbatore, Pollachi, Bethanayakkanur Panchayat Union Primary School warmly welcomes children returning to school after one and a half years with bouquets and sweets. Congratulations on excelling in education by vigilantly following corona prevention methods.”

States like Delhi and Kerala have also reopened schools for all classes today and asked institutions to strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines released by them.
