Teacher’s Day 2021: Delhi government to honour 122 teachers with state teachers awards

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has decided to award teachers of Delhi with state teachers awards on the occasion of Teacher’s Day 2021, September 5 at Thyagaraj stadium, for their contributions to the education system, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia announced on social media.

State teachers awards will be given to 122 teachers in 13 categories such as special education, sports, librarian, mentors, Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV), Educational and Vocational Guidance Counsellor(EVGC), guest teachers, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Face of Department of Education (DoE) etc, Sisodia added.

The AAP-led education minister further said that the education system of Delhi is getting global recognition because of the teachers.

It’s because of our teachers that the Delhi education system is now being recognised globally,” Manish Sisodia said in a social media post.

Sisodia also said: “Teachers will also be rewarded for helping people during the COVID crisis by going beyond the call of duty. 122 Teachers will be awarded in 13 categories like HOS, special education, sports, librarian, mentors, RPVV, EVGC, Misc, guest teachers, MCD, Face of DoE etc.”

Here are the 122 teachers who are being conferred with the state teachers awards 2021.

Recently, Manish Sisodia announced the reopening of schools for Classes 9 to 12, and colleges in Delhi. He also shared the pictures of the first day of school reopening in the state.

This Teacher’s Day, apart from the Delhi government, the Bihar education department is also awarding 20 teachers with the state teachers awards for their contributions to education. The education department shared a list of 20 teachers on social media who will be presented with the awards.

Moreover, President Ram Nath Kovind will be conferring the National Teachers Awards 2021 to 44 teachers on September 5 on the occasion of Teacher’s Day 2021.
