While Bihar is awarding 20 teachers with state teachers awards, Maharashtra is celebrating teachers appreciation week on this teacher's day.

NEW DELHI: Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on September 5 to commemorate the great teacher Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and to celebrate the teachers and their contributions across the country.
This year, the Union education ministry has released a list of 44 teachers who will be awarded with the National Teachers Awards 2021 for their contributions to the education system. President Ram Nath Kovind will present the awards to all the selected teachers on September 5.
The Ministry of education is celebrating the Shikshak Parv 2021 from September 5 to 17 wherein Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the participants on September 7.

The ministry said that it will organise a webinar on 10 selected themes like holistic progress card, vocational education and skill building, nurturing inclusive classrooms, promoting quality and sustainable schools, foundational literacy and numeracy, national digital education architecture (NDEAR), etc. Students, teachers, and others can participate in the webinar by asking questions on these themes.

The Maharashtra education department is celebrating a teachers’ appreciation week from September 2 to September 7, education minister Varsha Gaikwad announced on social media.
During this week, students can ‘thank a teacher’ they like by sharing videos, poems, notes, pictures, etc. on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

The education minister also appreciated the teachers and said: “The pandemic has been a tough time for students.Had it not been for our brilliant teachers-who went above and beyond the call of duty- many may have been deprived of education. Earlier, Varsha Gaikwad also shared that a teacher from Maharashtra, Khurshid Sheikh has been awarded with the National Teachers Award 2021 for teaching students in the remotest hamlets of the state.
The Bihar education department is celebrating the teacher’s day by awarding 20 teachers with the state teachers awards for their unmatched contributions to the education system. The education department posted a list of 20 teachers on social media who will be conferred with the awards.
“List of 20 outstanding teachers who have been selected for state teachers awards for 2021. Congratulations to all of you and best wishes for the future,” the Bihar education department tweeted.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is also celebrating teacher’s day on September 5 by organising an award function. The Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been invited as the chief guest to confer the awards.

Moreover, the Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya has asked the states to vaccinate all teachers on priority before Teacher’s Day 2021.
