Teacher’s Day 2022: How Indian leaders paid tribute to teachers, their contributions
Teachers Day 2022: President, vice president and others expressed gratitude to all teachers.

NEW DELHI: Chief ministers, present and former education ministers, President and Vice-President all paid tribute to teachers on Teachers’ Day 2022. Assam’s chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma described them as “diligent potters” who mold the next generation.
Teachers' Day is observed every year on September 5 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Indian President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr Radhakrishnan made outstanding contributions to the field of education and urged young people to use their education to make the world a better place.

As India celebrates its 60th Teachers' Day , leaders from across states and parties expressed gratitude to teachers for their contributions.
Maharashtra education minister Varsha Gaikwad paid tribute to Dr S. Radhakrishnan and wrote "Education opens up our minds and teachers are key to this process."

President Droupadi Murmu expressed gratitude to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and wrote, "homage to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India on his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan."

Expressing his gratitude to teachers for their "significant contribution" in shaping generations, Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala’s chief minister, tweeted: "Kerala is looking up to the leadership of its teachers in its transformation into a knowledge economy and innovation society."

Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu paid homage to Dr S Radhakrishnan, on his birth anniversary, tweeting: "He was an eminent teacher, philosopher, scholar, statesman and author. His life, work and legacy will keep inspiring every Indian."

Sarma praised teachers, saying, "Like diligent potters, they molded us into varied shapes - giving us life and a purpose." Describing them as god's finest creators, he tweeted: "Forever in gratitude for the values and vision they taught us; for preparing us to dream, and live our dreams. Thank you teachers"
