NEW DELHI: Teachers’ Day 2024 is celebrated on September 5 to commemorate the birth of former president of India Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Radhakrishnan, an educationist and vice-chancellor of several universities, has been part of several important education reforms in independent India.

To commemorate The National Teachers’ Day 2024, Government of India will be awarding 50 teachers certificates of merit and cash awards of Rs 50,000 and silver medals as part of National Teachers’ Awards 2024. The department of school education and literacy, ministry of education, has already announced the list of awardees – they hail from Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.
