NEW DELHI: The Telangana government orders all districts collectors to ensure 100% vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff of government and private schools by September 10.

According to the Times of India report, the chief secretary Somesh Kumar directed the district collectors to ensure vaccination of the school’s bus drivers, mid-day meal staff, cleaning staff and students above 18 years of age.

He also asked schools to display a banner stating that all teachers and other staff are completely vaccinated. They were further instructed to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

In case any teacher, student or staff is found to have COVID-19 symptoms, they are to be taken to the nearest hospital for a Covid test, he added. The school will then have to then take proper isolation measures, the report said.

On August 31, the ministry of education had asked all states and union territories to get the first dose of vaccination completed for all teaching and non-teaching staff during September.

Schools across the country were closed in March last year before the country went into a complete lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. Schools, colleges and other educational institutions have started reopening due to a dip in the number of cases.
