Telangana Intermediate Admissions 2026: Schedule extends to August 15 for 1st year students

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the Telangana intermediate admission schedule for the academic year 2026-27 to August 15, 2026. This schedule applies to first-year intermediate courses.

The circular, issued by the secretary, TGBIE, on July 31, 2026, applies to government, private aided, private unaided, co-operative, TG residential, TG social welfare residential, TG tribal welfare residential, TG model, BC welfare, incentive junior, and composite degree colleges.

Parents and students are advised to seek admission only in TGBIE-affiliated junior colleges. The list of affiliated colleges is available on the official TGBIE websites: acadtgbie.cgg.gov.in and tgbienew.cgg.gov.in.

TGBIE Admission 2026: Reservation norms

All principals must follow the below reservation norms while conducting admissions for the 2026-27 academic year.

33.33% (1/3rd) of seats are reserved for girls, category-wise, in colleges where no separate girls' institutions exist.

Key guidelines for junior college principals

TGBIE has issued a set of directives that all Principals must follow during the admission process.

• Admissions must be based solely on GPA, subject-wise Grade Points, and qualifying exam marks; entrance tests are strictly prohibited, with violators facing stringent action.

• Aadhaar submission is now mandatory across all college types, including Government institutions.

• Unaided colleges must restrict admissions to sanctioned sections, with a ceiling of 88 students per section.

• Seat-filling status (sanctioned, filled, and vacant) must be displayed daily at the college entrance.

• For Jogini children, the mother's name must be used instead of the father's name, as per qualifying exam records.

• Principals must ensure adequate security measures for girl students.

• A mandatory Anti-Drug Declaration is required from both students and parents during admission.

• Under the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025, Form-II details of any admitted foreign national or OCI must be forwarded to the local police station within 24 hours.

Colleges that fail to comply with these TGBIE admission 2026 directives risk penalties, including disaffiliation.
