NEW DELHI: Universities in Telangana are going to offer free coaching to students preparing for government jobs, as per a report.

Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Satavahana University will offer coaching to students on their campuses, the report said.

State education minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy reportedly directed the vice-chancellors of the universities to start coaching programmes as the state government is expected to issue job notifications for recruiting students in various departments. The government will issue grants to universities for providing free coaching.

Osmania University has already begun preparation for launching a Civil Service Academy in which the university will train students for various exams for government jobs such as Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services examination (CSE), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exams etc., the report said.

On the other hand, Kakatiya University in Warangal is also preparing for the launch of a coaching academy to give training to students for the exams for Group-I, II, III, and IV jobs of the Telangana government and posts in the police department, the report added.

Meanwhile, the British Council, an international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural exchange, and the Telangana government on February 23 signed an agreement to renew their partnership in education, English and arts to create opportunities for the youth of Telangana.
