The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has issued the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2025 rank list for admission to BTech courses at various institutes in the state.
Here are the steps given to use the college predictor for TNEA 2025.
The Department of Technical Education (DoTE) has declared the rank list for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2025 (TNEA) on its official website at tneaonline.org.
Candidates will be given admissions into Tamil Nadu engineering colleges on the basis of marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Class 12 exams. The cut-off for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2025 (TNEA) will be calculated for a total of 200 marks.
For instance, if a candidate scores 100 marks in Mathematics, 95 in Physics and 90 in Chemistry, the TNEA cut-off will be calculated as per the table given below.
Step | Details | Explanation |
1. Subjects Considered | Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry | Only these 3 subjects are used to compute the cutoff marks. |
2. Formula for Cutoff | (Maths/2) + (Physics/4) + (Chemistry/4) | The maximum cutoff possible is 200 marks. |
3. Example Calculation | Maths = 100, Physics = 90, Chemistry = 80 → Cutoff = 100/2 + 90/4 + 80/4 = 50 + 22.5 + 20 = 92.5 | This is the normalized cutoff score used for merit ranking. |
