TNPSC Group 2 exam held on Nov 11

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 11: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has conducted the preliminary exam of TNPSC Group 2 on November 11. The exam was held in pen and paper mode across 116 exam centres in 32 cities in Tamil Nadu. The exam was held in a single slot from 10 am to 1 pm. The answer key of TNPSC Group 2 will be released by TNPSC by November 13, two days after exam. TNPSC Group 2 result will be declared in February 2019.
TNPSC Group 2 exam consisted of 200 objective type questions from General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability Test and General Tamil / General English. Each question was for 1.5 marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates were given three hours to answer the questions. The test carries total 300 marks.
As per official notification, the qualifying marks for preliminary exam is 90 which is common across all categories. Candidates securing the qualifying marks as per their category will be shortlisted for the mains exam. The marks obtained by candidates in the preliminary examination will not be considered for the final merit list. Based on TNPSC Group 2 result 2018 of preliminary examination, candidates 10 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the mains exam.
Qualified candidates will appear for the mains exam which is scheduled to be conducted in May 2019. The admit cards for the mains exam will be issued to candidates in April 2019.
TNPSC Group 2 exam is conducted to select candidates for Group 2 posts in various state government departments. As many as 1199 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment exam.
