TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2026: Online applications begin. Preliminary exam scheduled for November 1

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has published the Group 2 and Group 2A notification 2026 for direct recruitment to 821 vacancies under the Combined Civil Services Examination II. Along with the notification, the TNPSC Group 2 application form link has also been activated. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online until September 9, 2026, by 11:59 pm at tnpsc.gov.in.
The TNPSC Group 2 preliminary examination 2026 will be conducted on November 1, 2026, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The date of the main examination will be announced later along with the preliminary exam results.

Of the 821 total vacancies, 41 are for Group 2 services, including posts such as assistant inspector, deputy commercial tax officer, junior employment officer, probation officer, sub-registrar grade 2, jailer, special assistant, special branch assistant and assistant section officer.
While 780 vacancies are for Group 2A services, which include posts such as assistant, accountant, senior inspector, executive officer, junior accountant, male warden, handloom inspector and lower division (counter) clerk.
Candidates must apply online through the TNPSC website after completing One Time Registration (OTR). The OTR fee is Rs 150 and is valid for five years. Aadhaar linking, a valid email ID and a mobile number are mandatory. Candidates should verify all details before clicking ‘Submit’.
The preliminary exam fee is Rs 100. Candidates shortlisted for the main exam are required to pay Rs 150, while those appearing for both Group 2 and Group 2A mains have to pay Rs 300, unless exempted.
