Subscribe NowNEW DELHI: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) will close the registration window for the group 2 combined civil services examination 2024 tomorrow, July 19. The TNPSC Group 2 prelims exam is scheduled for September 14 and will be conducted in a single shift from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The commission aims to fill a total of 2,327 vacancies for the assistant inspector, deputy commercial tax officer, special assistant, assistant section officer, audit inspector etc. post. Out of the total vacancies, 507 vacancies are reserved for group 2 posts and 1,820 vacancies are reserved for group 2A posts.
Eligible candidates can fill out the TNPSC group 2 application form by visiting the official website at tnpsc.gov.in. To register for the TNPSC group 2 preliminary examination, candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100. Those who have not claimed a fee exemption and are shortlisted for the main written examination, based on the preliminary exam results, will be required to pay an additional fee of Rs 150 for the main examination.
The TNPSC Group 2 selection process includes three stages: a preliminary exam, a mains exam, and an oral test. The preliminary exam is an objective-type written test, followed by the mains exam, which is a descriptive written test for those who qualify in the prelims. Candidates who pass the main exam must then appear for an oral test or interview.

TNPSC Group 2 2024: Exam pattern
The TNPSC Group 2 preliminary examination will be conducted in both English and Tamil, carrying 200 questions for a total of 300 marks. The exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours. The minimum qualifying mark for the TNPSC prelims is 90 marks.
