NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay) will close the seat acceptance and payment window for UCEED counselling round 1 today, April 18. Candidates who have not yet confirmed the seats can do so by paying the acceptance fees through the official website, uceed.iitb.ac.in/2024.
Applicants who receive seat allocations in the first round must confirm the seat acceptance fee from April 10 to April 18, 2024. The seat acceptance fee is Rs 60,000 for general category candidates, whereas SC, ST, and PwD candidates are required to pay Rs 15,000.
Failure to complete the payment within the specified timeframe will result in the cancellation of the seat allocation, which will then be reassigned to the next candidate in the merit order.
UCEED 2024 freeze, float option
Students who have been allotted seats through the UCEED 2024 counselling process will have the option to select either the 'freeze' or 'float' options. Opting for 'freeze' means they commit to their current seat and will not participate in subsequent rounds, whereas choosing 'float' allows them to seek better seats in later rounds.
The window for withdrawing seats or exiting the allocation process will be open from April 19 to 30. Those who choose to withdraw will receive a refund of Rs 55,000, with students from SC, ST, and PwD categories receiving a refund of Rs 10,000.
IIT Bombay has stated that students who have been allotted a seat, upon payment of the seat acceptance fee, can download a provisional seat allotment letter from their candidate login.
The institute is currently conducting counseling sessions for admission into the Bachelor of Design programs offered at IITs in Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Roorkee, as well as IIITDM Jabalpur. This process is based on the results of the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED 2024).
