UGC has warned students not to take admission in the self-styled Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, as degrees from fake institutes may destroy their careers.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has included Alwar’s Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management in the list of fake universities. The commission took this decision after it found that the technology and management institute was awarding degrees to students in violation of the UGC Act, 1956.
Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Mansa Chowk, Bhiwadi, District Alwar (Rajasthan) is neither recognised by the UGC under section 2 (f) nor section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the commission said in an official statement.
Following which the UGC added its name in the list of fake universities .

“Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management is not entitled to award any UG/PG degree. Any degree awarded by this institute so far is not valid for Higher Education/ Government employment purposes,” UGC said.
It has also warned students, parents, and the general public not to take admission in the self-styled Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, as degrees from fake institutes may destroy their careers.
In February this year, UGC published a state-wise list of 32 fake universities established across the country. It also issued caution to students that degrees awarded by the listed institutions are neither recognised nor valid for higher education or employment.
According to the latest UGC fake university list, Delhi has topped the chart with 12 institutions, followed by Uttar Pradesh with four.
Other states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry, and West Bengal, have two fake institutions each.
