NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) scheduled on August 26 on account of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The exam will now be administered on August 27. The testing agency has also uploaded the UGC NET June 2024 exam city slip on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The NTA had earlier announced the complete UGC NET exam schedule. As per the dates, a total of 7 papers - philosophy, Hindi, Oriya, Nepali, Manipuri, Assamese, Santali - were scheduled to be held on August 26. The UGC NET exam was postponed after paper leak allegations.
The UGC NET exam 2024 will be conducted in two shifts - shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Philosophy and Hindi papers will be conducted in the morning shift and the Oriya, Nepali, Manipuri, Assamese, Santali, Hindi paper will be held in the afternoon shift. The NTA will be holding the eligibility test for awarding JRF and other fellowships for a total of 83 papers.
The UGC NET June 2024 exam will be held from August 21 to September 4. Around 9 lakh candidates appeared for the exam this year. The UGC NET admit card 2024 is expected to be issued by August 19 on the official website. Candidates will have to key in their application number and date of birth to download the UGC NET hall ticket.
“The rest of the schedule will remain the same as per the Public Notice dated: 02th August 2024,” it informed.
