Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program (VBYCP) will be launched by the ministry of education on International Youth Day, August 12.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked colleges and universities across the country to participate in the upcoming Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program (VBYCP), which is scheduled to be launched on International Youth Day, August 12. The initiative is aimed at providing students a platform to engage directly with national policymakers.
The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program will be rolled out in over 1,150 universities across the country. In this regard, the commission has asked all universities and colleges to nominate a nodal officer from their institution to coordinate with the ministry of education.
“The VBYCP aims to strengthen youth leadership and civic engagement by facilitating interactive platforms between youth and national policymakers. The program will be anchored on the MY Bharat portal as a flagship initiative under the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047,” the statutory body said.

The UGC urged all higher education institutions to establish clubs on their campuses. These clubs aim to encourage youth engagement in nation-building through awareness, community participation, and leadership development.
The commission has also requested the institutions to circulate the advisory to relevant stakeholders within the institution. Universities have also been advised to ensure the participation of students on August 12 in line with the objectives of VBYCP.
It has also asked universities to submit a brief report post-event to UGC by August 18, outlining all the activities organised and level of participation.
