UGC urges higher education institutes to participate in Cyber Hygiene webinar on April 3

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has requested all higher education institutions to participate in Cyber Hygiene live webinar, which will be hosted by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (14C), Ministry of Home Affairs, on April 3, 2024. The duration of the webinar is one hour, and the timings are from 2 to 3 pm.
The UGC official notice read, "The webinar aims to educate higher education institutions regarding the essential practices for maintaining cyber hygiene and ensuring online safety. Fostering awareness and understanding of cyber threats and preventive measures crucial in today's digital age."
Cyber Hygiene Webinar: Live streaming on UGC’s social media handles
The commission has urged the higher education institutes to share the webinar notification among faculty, staff, and students and encourage their active participation. The webinar will be live-streamed on UGC's social media handles.

Cyber Hygiene Webinar: Programme outline
The webinar will begin at 2 pm with an introduction by M Jagadesh Kumar, chairman, UGC, followed by a lecture by Nishant Kumar, director, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (14C) from 2:10 pm to 2:50 pm, and conclude with a question-and-answer session which will be held from 2:50 pm to 3:00 pm.

UGC NET June registration 2024
The UGC chairman announced that the registration for the UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) June session will commence next week. The UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year in June and December to assess candidates' eligibility for the roles of assistant professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges across India. The Chairman shared the update on X, stating, “NTA is working on launching the NET application process for the June 2024 session sometime next week.”
