University of Birmingham announces Rs 10 crore worth of scholarships for UG, PG Indian students

NEW DELHI: The University of Birmingham has announced more than 1 million pound or Rs 10 crore worth of scholarships for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) Indian students.

The institute said that the scholarship will support Indian students with a strong academic and extracurricular record. The university has been ranked among the top 100 universities in the world.

The scholarships for the academic year 2024-25 are categorised into merit-based and automatic awards for specific academic fields including business, computer science, arts and law, environmental and physical sciences, geography, earth and environmental sciences.

There are 20 awards of outstanding achievement scholarships for UG students of 4,000 pound or Rs 4,20,929 each, 15 awards of India Chancellor Scholarship for PG students of 2,000 pound or Rs 2,10,464 each and unlimited automatic scholarships of Rs 2,10,464 each under the Global Masters Scholarships scheme. Additionally, there are several other scholarships announced specifically available for Indian students.

The applications for September 2024 are open for international students on the official website, .birmingham.ac.uk.

Birmingham University scholarships

The scholarships available for Indian students are as follows:

UG Outstanding Achievement Scholarships: 20 awards x Rs 4,20,929 per award

PG India Chancellor Scholarship: 15 awards x Rs 2,10,464 per award

Global Masters Scholarships (Automatic): Rs 2,10,464 scholarships per award

DeepMind Scholarships for Computer Science: 3 awards x Rs 55,31,535 per award

GREAT Scholarships 2024: Rs 10,52,323 award to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study at the university.

The GEES Global Futures Scholarship (India): Rs 2,10,464 scholarships per award

The Million Pound Scholarship Fund for Business School master’s students are available for both UK and international offer holders and range in value up to full tuition fee support.
