University of Hyderabad fills 170 PhD seats with 91.89%; UG admission from August 13

UoH completes PhD admissions for 27 subjects, while for 17 subjects await UGC-NET/CSIR-UGC-NET results
The University of Hyderabad (UoH) completed the admission process for its PhD programmes 2026, with 170 of the 185 seats filled across 27 subjects through its PhD entrance exam and interview rounds. The admissions were finalised on July 30 and the university recorded a 91.89% admission rate.
The PhD entrance exam took place on June 6 and 7, 2026 at seven centres across the country. Interviews were conducted for those who qualified in the written test from July 9 to 11 and shortlisted candidates were invited for admission in the ratio of 1:3 on the basis of their performance in the written test and interviews.
PG admission completed, UG schedule announced
The UoH completed admissions to its postgraduate (PG) courses in 42 subjects from July 13 to 17, 2026. As of July 17, a total of 1,201 students had been admitted, and 1,463 seats were available, representing an admission rate of 82.09%.

The candidates got shortlisted for PG admission in 1:10 ratio based on their CUET PG 2026 scores. Candidates who participated in counselling and went through admission formalities have been admitted and admission under the waitlist will be offered based on category-wise vacancies in the respective subjects.
Admissions for the remaining 17 PhD subjects will be conducted through UGC-NET/CSIR-UGC-NET scores once the National Testing Agency (NTA) announces the results.
The undergraduate and integrated master's programmes admission will be done for 17 subjects on August 13 and 14, 2026, respectively, at the university. The list of shortlisted candidates, as per their CUET UG 2026 scores, will be displayed on the university website on August 3.
