148 students banned from UP NEET PG counselling 2025 for not joining, leaving seats last year

The Director General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has debarred 148 candidates from UP NEET PG counselling 2025 for not joining or resigning from the MD, MS seats allotted to them in the stray vacancy round last year.

As per the NEET PG admission guidelines issued last year, “If any candidate does not take admission after allotment from the stray vacancy round, the security deposit of such candidate will be forfeited and he/she will be barred from UP NEET PG counselling 2025-26”.

Moreover, the rules iterate that if the concerned candidates leave the seat after the counselling of the last cycle before completing the course, then they will be debarred from the admission process of the next academic session.

A total of 59 candidates did not take admission despite being allotted seats in MD, MS courses through stray vacancy round and special stray vacancy round while 89 candidates resigned from their admitted seats of MD, MS courses after the counselling of the last cycle before completing the course.

The DGME has issued two lists of debarred MD, MS candidates with their names, roll number, NEET PG rank, and allotted institute.

UP NEET PG counselling 2025 dates

The DGME is expected to announce the UP NEET PG counselling dates 2025 soon. Eligible and interested candidates will be able to apply for the counselling on upneet.gov.in.

Applicants will be required to submit a registration fee of Rs 3,000. The security deposit amount is Rs 30,000 for MD, MS, diploma, and DNB seats in government colleges, Rs 2 lakh for both government and private medical colleges, and Rs 1 lakh for both government and private dental colleges.
