UP Police Constable Recruitment 2026: UPPRPB cuts age limit amid demand for relaxation; 32,679 vacancies

Candidates can fill the UP Police Constable application form through the official portal before January 30, 2026.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has notified 32,679 vacancies for UP Police constable recruitment 2025 amid protests by aspirants against prolonged delay. The UP Constable registration form is available on the official website at uppbpb.gov.in.
The UP recruitment board has also reduced the maximum age limit for male candidates applying for the post of constable to 22 years, while the upper age limit for female candidates has been dropped to 25 years. This decision to reduce the age limit for UP Constable recruitment comes despite repeated demands from aspirants to grant 3-year age relaxation, as several candidates have become overage due to the delay in the process.
The eligibility criteria demand Class 12 pass certificate for joining the UP Police Constable posts . The recruitment board will close the registration window on January 30, 2026.

UP Police Recruitment 2026: Registration fee, selection process
The UPPRPB has published the UP Police Constable recruitment notification a day after the aspirants intensified their protests on social media when #UP_Constable_Vacancy was trending with over 50,000 posts.
The state will fill a total of 32,679 posts for different categories, including constable civil police, constable PAC, armed police, constable special security force, female constable for women battalion, Jail Warder (Male), and others.
Applicants are required to complete an online One Time Registration (OTR) process before filling the application form.
General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category candidates will have to pay Rs 500 as registration fees, whereas Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) aspirants will have to pay Rs 400 as application fee.
The selection process for the UP Police Constable recruitment includes a written exam, document verification process, physical standard test, and a physical efficiency test.
The salary range for the posts of police constable in the UP police department includes a pay band of Rs 5,200 to 20,200 as per the old pay scale, and a pay matrix of Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100 under the new pay scale at pay level 3.
