UPPSC has invited applications for around 500 PCS vacancies including deputy collector, DSP and BDO; OTR is mandatory before applying

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has issued the notifications for the UPPSC PCS 2026 exam on the official website of UPPSC at uppsc.up.nic.in. Candidates can apply for this recruitment on the official website till July 27, 2026.
The recruitment drive seeks to fill 500 vacancies across various posts, including deputy collector, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), block development officer (BDO), and other PCS positions.
Candidates must complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process and obtain a valid OTR number before submitting their online application. Applicants who have not yet registered are required to generate their OTR number through the commission's OTR portal at least 72 hours before filling out the application form. The online application can be submitted only after the OTR number has been successfully generated.

Candidates are advised to check the official notification for the detailed eligibility criteria and many more.
After completing the first and second stages of the online application process, candidates are required to pay the prescribed application fee in the third stage. For candidates belonging to the unreserved, economically weaker sections (EWS), and other backward classes (OBC) categories, the total fee is Rs 125, which includes an examination fee of Rs 100 and an online processing fee of Rs 25.
Scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) candidates are required to pay Rs 65 (Rs 40 examination fee and Rs 25 processing fee), while persons with disabilities (PwD) need to pay only the Rs 25 online processing fee, as they are exempt from the examination fee.

Ex-servicemen are also required to pay Rs 65, comprising a Rs 40 examination fee and a Rs 25 processing fee. Candidates applying under the dependents of freedom fighters, women, and skilled player categories will be charged the fee applicable to their respective original category.
The combined state/upper subordinate services (general/special recruitment) examination covers various posts carrying pay scales under the 6th pay commission. Most posts offer a pay scale of Rs 9,300–34,800 with a grade pay of Rs 4,600, while the Naib Tehsildar post carries a grade pay of Rs 4,200. Certain higher-level posts under the examination are placed in the pay scale of Rs 15,600–39,100 with a grade pay of Rs 5,400.
