UPSC Civil Service Result: 114 CSE candidates recommended to DoPT; 15 provisional

Download EBookThe Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended an additional 114 candidates to fill up the remaining posts based on the Civil Services Exam 2024. The commission had earlier recommended 1,009 candidates in the order of merit for various posts such as IAS, IFS, IPS, and other central services.

The UPSC Civil Service exam was conducted for a total of 1,129 vacancies in Group A and Group B and various central service positions. The UPSC CSE Main 2024 results were declared on April 22.
As per the IAS exam rules, the commission had also maintained a consolidated reserve list in the order of merit. Candidates from the UPSC reserve list are selected in case a vacancy arises after the final result.
As sought by the Department of Personnel and Training, the commission has now recommended 114 candidates, of whom, 94 are from the general category candidates, 5 are EWS, 13 OBC, and 1 each from SC and ST.
“The recommended candidates will be intimated directly by the DoPT. The candidature of 15 candidates is provisional. The list of these 114 candidates is also available on the UPSC website, upsc.gov.in,” it said.
In other updates, the UPSC has announced its decision to publish the provisional answer key soon after the preliminary exams. Under the new exam policy, candidates will be able to challenge the answer key by providing at least three reliable sources to support their claims. The final answer key will also be declared after the completion of the entire exam process, it said.
