UPSC CSE 2023: DAF 1 update window opens at upsconline.nic.in; phase 1 interviews till February 16

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a notification regarding the commencement of the personality test/interview test for the Civil Services Exam (CSE) 2023. Candidates who have qualified for the UPSC CSE Main 2024 can download the official notice through the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in.

As per the notice, the commission will open the Detailed Application Form (DAF) 1 of CSE 2023 for candidates to update their details regarding employment or service allocation till February 5, 2024. After closing the service window, no further requests will be entertained by the Commission.
UPSC decided after receiving requests from candidates who appeared in personality tests and were recommended through CSE 2022 or previous CSEs but were unable to be assigned a service before the closing date of DAF 1 of CSE 2023 to update their employment or service allocation details in DAF.
As per the schedule, Phase 1 of the Personality Test is underway from January 2 and will conclude on February 16. The commission will conduct the second phase of personality tests from February 19 to March 15. The schedule for the remaining candidates will be uploaded in due course of time at the official website, upsc.gov.in. Candidates who have qualified the written test are eligible to appear for the personality test.

"The Commission took the decision after it received various requests from the candidates appearing in PT/Interview and who are recommended through CSE-2022 or previous CSEs but could not be allocated the Service before the closing date of DAF-I of CSM-2023 to update their employment/service allocation details in DAF 1", UPSC notice said.
The UPSC mains exam 2023 was conducted from September 15 to September 24, 2023. The Commission declared the results on December 8, 2023.
