NEW DELHI: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will close the civil service preliminary examination registration process today. The UPSC CSE IAS exam 2024 will be conducted for recruitment to Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other posts notified.

The UPSC CSE prelims application form is available on the official website, upsc.gov.in, till 6 pm today. The one time registration (OTR) can be modified till 7 days after the registration process closes. Those who are registering for the first time will be able to modify the UPSC OTR from March 6 to March 12.

As per the new guidelines to upload documents, candidates should upload a photograph which is not more than 10 days old from the online application process start date. The photograph should have the name of the candidate and date on which the photo was taken.

The UPSC has announced to fill approximately 1,056 vacancies, including 40 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability category. Of the 40 vacancies for PwD category candidates, 6 vacancies are for blind and low vision candidates, 12 for deaf and hard of hearing, 9 for locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy, and 13 vacancies for multiple disabilities.

UPSC aspirants will have to qualify the preliminary exam to appear in the UPSC Mains exam and interview for recruitment.

UPSC CSE prelims age limit

Applicants should be 21 years old and should not have attained 32 years as of August 1, 2024. “Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1992 and not later than 1st August, 2003,” it said. Candidates can check the age limit criteria to apply for UPSC IAS exam 2024 here.
