NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) begins the UPSC IES and UPSC ISS registration from today, April 19. Candidates can download the UPSC IES/ISS 2023 notification from the official website - upsc.gov.in. Applicants will be able to register for UPSC IES/ISS 2023 by May 9. As many as 18 posts for Indian Economic Service (IES) and 33 posts for Indian Statistical Service (ISS) will be filled through this recruitment drive.
A candidate for the IES must have obtained a postgraduate degree in economics, applied economics, business economics or econometrics, while for the UPSC ISS 2023, a candidate must have obtained a bachelors degree with statistics, mathematical statistics or applied statistics as one of the subjects or a masters degree in statistics, mathematical statistics or applied statistics.
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2023, the UPSC IES/ ISS notification 2023 said.

While filling in the UPSC IES/ ISS application form 2023, the candidate should carefully decide about the choice for the centre for the examination. If any candidate appears at a centre other than the one indicated by the Commission in his/her e-Admission Certificate, the papers of such a candidate will not be evaluated and his/her candidature will be liable to cancellation.

Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.

Candidates are not required to submit hard copy of their application to the Commission at this stage.

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination.
