NEW DELHI : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination 2024. Accordingly, the registration for UPSC IFS 2024 has begun on the official website, upsc.gov.in. Eligible candidates can apply for the exam by March 5, 2024.
Candidates except female, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100 to apply for the exam. The fee payment can be done via debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking.
UPSC IFS 2024: Eligibility criteria
- The candidate must be a citizen of India
- The candidate must be 21-year-old and must not be 32 year-old on August 1, 2024, that he must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1992 and not later than August 1, 2003.
- A candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely animal husbandry and veterinary science, botany, chemistry, geology, mathematics, physics, statistics and zoology or a bachelor's degree in agriculture, forestry or in engineering of any of universities.
UPSC IFS 2024 will be held in two stages – civil services preliminary exam for selection of candidates for mains and IFS mains exam (written and interview). The exam will be conducted to fill a total of 150 vacancies in the Indian Forest Service.
How to fill UPSC IFS application form 2024?
- Go to the official website, upsc.gov.in
- Click on the link for IFS registration
- Register yourselves and generate login credentials
- Login with your details and fill the application form
- Upload the documents and pay the fee
- Submit the form and save the confirmation page
- Take a print out of the form for further reference
UPSC IFS 2024: Documents required
- Photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format. The file size should not exceed 300 KB each and must not be less than 50 KB in size
- Educational certificates
- Any one photo ID from Aadhar Card/vote card/PAN Card/passport/Driving Licence
- Personal details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth
