The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will conduct the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 from tomorrow, September 6 and September 7, across 48 districts of the state. The UPSSSC PET 2025 will be held in two shifts each day, with the first session from 10 am to 12 noon and the second session from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Candidates going to appear for the exam will have to carry a valid photo ID, the UPSSSC PET 2025 admit card, a water bottle, a mask, and a ballpoint pen to the exam centre. The commission issued the UPSSSC PET 2025 admit card on September 1. Candidates who have not yet downloaded the admit card can do so through the official website at upsssc.gov.in using the registration number, date of birth, and gender information.

The UPSSSC PET is conducted to screen and determine the general eligibility of candidates who wish to apply for various Group B and C posts in the Uttar Pradesh state government. The exam will have 100 multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted as negative marking.

Special trains for key cities ahead of exam

According to several reports, authorities are expecting a large number of candidates along with accompanying family members. In Bareilly, over 80,000 candidates are expected to appear across 45 examination centres, while in Badayun, around 39,000 candidates will attend 29 centres.

To manage candidate movement and ensure smooth transportation, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has scheduled additional bus services from September 4 to 7. The reports further state that monitoring teams of 16 staff each will be deployed at the main and satellite bus stands. About 292 buses will operate across routes to ensure candidates reach the exam centres.

The railways have also introduced special trains connecting key cities, including Ballia, Mau, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj, to support candidates’ travel. These trains will run from September 5, 2025, and on the exam days, with departures scheduled at intervals to manage passenger movement efficiently.
